Thesis on the theme of legibility and illegibility in typography. Group work with Juliette Anglade and Bérengère Mory.

Our plan is articulated on a thread from legibility to illegibility. First, legibility, the cooking of meaning, going back to the origins of writing, as well as reading contracts: reflection of a society and social marker. Then from writing to typography: different criteria of legibility according to societies and times.
In the second part we are interested in the search for efficiency in reading and writing, which has led to a standardization of typography.

Finally, the third part deals with the reconstruction of the legible, the research of the limits of comprehension between legibility and illegibility, until where will the reconstruction go and finally, the graphic translation beyond comprehension, to mean otherwise.
